A mesh node keeps losing connection to the main router
Mesh sounds like magic but the uplink between nodes is just Wi-Fi, with the same physical limits.
Try this first
- 1In your mesh app, check the uplink strength of the troublesome node. Below the "good" mark means: too far, or a wall in between.
- 2Move the node half a meter to a meter closer to the main router. Often enough.
- 3Reboot both (main first, wait until online, then node). Mesh systems remember routes; sometimes a stale one is stuck.
- 4Still bad? Connect the node with a UTP cable as wired backhaul. That fixes almost every mesh issue.
When to bring us in
If your building is too large for consumer mesh, we replace it with business APs on cable. Often cheaper long-term than buying new mesh sets repeatedly.
