Old Polycom conference phones on the table and we are moving to Teams Phone

An old Polycom SoundStation on analogue or SIP can be retired. For Teams Phone use a Teams-certified device, or no device at all if the room system handles audio conferencing.

Try this first

  1. 1Per room, check whether a conference phone still sits next to the room system, often a legacy Polycom.
  2. 2Rooms with MTR or Zoom Rooms do not need a physical conference phone, the room does PSTN dial-out via Teams Phone or Zoom Phone.
  3. 3Rooms still on an old phone system, plan migration to Teams Phone with a certified Polycom Trio or Yealink Teams device.
  4. 4Recycle or dispose of old devices properly, batteries inside, not regular waste.
  5. 5Update the room guide so users know the new dial flow, not the old SIP button.
  6. 6Plan telco migration and room migration together, otherwise a room sits between two systems.

When to bring us in
