Mic mute button is unclear or out of reach for the whole table

A mute must be reachable within a second, otherwise people keep talking without muting. One button on the controller is not enough for a long table.

Try this first

  1. 1Place a mute button per three or four seats, via table mics with their own mute or a table panel.
  2. 2Make mute status visible with a physical LED, not only on screen, so everyone sees who is open.
  3. 3For Shure MXA and Sennheiser TeamConnect there are separate mute buttons as accessory, place them along the edge.
  4. 4Check that mute really cuts the whole audio path, sometimes only the meeting app mutes but the room recording does not.
  5. 5Test with a meeting where someone deliberately mutes and unmutes, and ask another person to verify it works instantly.
  6. 6Document in the room guide where the mute button is, otherwise people search during a conversation.

When to bring us in

For rooms with frequent privacy-sensitive talk, legal or HR, plan a proper mute design with multiple buttons. Vectel can detail per room.
