Request for live captions during a hybrid meeting
Live captions in Teams are built in, also for Dutch. Zoom and Google Meet too. But quality depends on mic position not algorithm, bad audio yields bad captions.
Try this first
- 1Enable live captions per user in Teams or Zoom, that is a client setting not a tenant setting.
- 2For Teams, Dutch is supported, pick the right language in the captions menu.
- 3For non-native speakers it works better if the mic sits close to the speaker, a far table mic produces more errors.
- 4Test that captions continue during screen share, not every version handles that consistently.
- 5For accessibility, plan a dedicated captioner role, a human handles ambiguity better than AI.
- 6Document in the room guide how to enable captions, otherwise people search the menus mid-meeting.
When to bring us in
For structured accessibility policy, or clients with deaf or hard-of-hearing attendees, Vectel can deliver a fixed toolset and procedure.

- Remote people feel left out in hybrid meetings.Parity is not luck. Camera, mic and facilitation must treat remote attendees equally.
- Camera does not capture everyone around the table.Focal length, placement and auto-framing decide whether the whole table is visible.
- We want to show both the whiteboard and the people.A content camera on the board, a people camera on the table. Two streams.
