We are 12 people on M365 E3 or Google Enterprise, feels overbought
For small teams Business Standard or Business Premium (M365), or Google Workspace Business Standard or Plus, usually wins. Enterprise tiers cost significantly more and mainly add oversight features you do not need at 12 people.
Try this first
- 1List the Enterprise features you actually use: Audit Premium, Defender for Identity, Vault retention policies, Information Protection.
- 2Compare per user per month: E3 vs Business Premium (M365), or Enterprise vs Business Plus (Google), ask current pricing.
- 3Check whether compliance demands (sector, customer contract) require Enterprise, sometimes a customer signs on that certification.
- 4Plan a downgrade at quarter-end if clearly overbought, and reserve Enterprise for a specific subset.
When to bring us in
If you want a sober assessment whether your tier still fits your size, we can run an independent tier review.
