Weight item vs unit item in POS, how to set?
For vegetables, meat, cheese: by weight, linked to a certified scale. For packaged products: by unit with a barcode. Mixing is fine but mark in the PLU which is which, or cashiers misprice.
Try this first
- 1Connect a certified scale (Bizerba, Mettler) to the POS.
- 2Set per item: per unit, per kg, per 100g.
- 3Test with 3 reference weights for calibration.
- 4Keep certification proof, NMi audits this periodically.
When to bring us in
On calibration doubt, have NMi or an authorised company recertify. Selling on uncertified scales is not allowed.
