Contactless works, but chip-and-pin throws errors.

Usually a dirty chip reader or an expired EMV certificate. NFC keeps working while the chip flow fails. Clean first, then call your provider.

Try this first

  1. 1Clean the chip reader with a cleaning card.
  2. 2Test with your own card, two different banks.
  3. 3Check the terminal log for a recent failed software update.
  4. 4Call CCV, Worldline or Adyen support, ask for EMV cert status.

When to bring us in

If chip keeps failing after cleaning and a reboot, request a replacement terminal. On-site repair usually takes longer than a swap.
