Windows Hello suddenly recognizes me slowly or not at all
The camera or fingerprint sensor needs to keep relearning. New glasses, beard added, dry or wet finger; the match becomes uncertain.
Try this first
- 1Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Windows Hello Face > 'Improve recognition'. Add a variant with glasses, without, in different light.
- 2Fingerprint: 'Remove' and re-register. Even mild irritation or hand cream throws recognition off.
- 3Driver update for the IR camera or fingerprint reader via Device Manager or laptop maker.
- 4Use a PIN or password for now if Hello stutters; faster than four failed attempts.
