Browser or Teams stutters on scroll or video
Hardware acceleration shifts heavy work to the GPU. Great with good drivers, bad with old or buggy ones.
Try this first
- 1Try first: Chrome > Settings > System > 'Use hardware acceleration when available' off. Restart browser. Better? Leave it.
- 2Not better, actually worse? Turn it back on and chase a driver update via Device Manager or the Intel/AMD/Nvidia site.
- 3In Teams: Settings > General > 'Disable GPU hardware acceleration'. Helps on older laptops with Intel iGPU.
- 4This is never an 'always on or always off' answer. Test, compare a few days, decide.
