Browser or Teams stutters on scroll or video

Hardware acceleration shifts heavy work to the GPU. Great with good drivers, bad with old or buggy ones.

Try this first

  1. 1Try first: Chrome > Settings > System > 'Use hardware acceleration when available' off. Restart browser. Better? Leave it.
  2. 2Not better, actually worse? Turn it back on and chase a driver update via Device Manager or the Intel/AMD/Nvidia site.
  3. 3In Teams: Settings > General > 'Disable GPU hardware acceleration'. Helps on older laptops with Intel iGPU.
  4. 4This is never an 'always on or always off' answer. Test, compare a few days, decide.
