Chrome with many tabs makes my laptop unusable
Memory Saver in modern Chrome sleeps inactive tabs. On older versions or after a policy override it is off.
Try this first
- 1Go to chrome://settings/performance and turn Memory Saver on
- 2Add exceptions for sites that must stay active
- 3Close duplicate tabs and tab groups you no longer need
- 4Use tab groups and pinned tabs so your workflow survives cleanup
When to bring us in
For a browser policy blocking Memory Saver: have IT review the Enterprise policy.
