Refurbished laptops, when is that smart and when false economy?
Refurbished business laptops can be fine for part of your team. For heavy users or frequent travelers, a new model with warranty is usually wiser.
Try this first
- 1Pick a vendor that offers a serious warranty, not a second-hand marketplace purchase for business use.
- 2Refurbished is strong for standby laptops, training units, or admin roles where performance is not a bottleneck.
- 3Plan a shorter depreciation period (1 or 2 years) and schedule replacement sooner than new.
- 4Check battery cycle count and whether the model is still supported by the manufacturer for security updates, otherwise the savings vanish.
