Which IT costs are truly one-off and which return every year?
Many quotes mix one-off and recurring on the same lines. Split it yourself, otherwise you buy a great base but year two has no management on it.
Try this first
- 1One-off: hardware purchase, migration, first setup of M365 or Google, audit project, training at start.
- 2Recurring: licenses, management hours, backup, security tools, awareness, hosting, domain, mobile connectivity.
- 3Periodic (not one-off, not monthly): hardware replacement every 3 or 4 years, audit every 1 or 2 years, revised NIS2 step when law shifts.
- 4Ask every quote to break out into these three columns, then you immediately see what you forget or what doubles up.
