How do I ship a new laptop to a new hire?
Don't ship a 'naked' Windows install. A bit of prep saves first-day support and gives a professional impression.
Try this first
- 1Pre-bind to Autopilot or Apple Business Manager via the serial number. On first boot, the user signs in and everything installs.
- 2Include a short 'what-to-do-on-arrival' page: M365 sign-in, MFA registration, where the password manager lives.
- 3Use a tracked-and-signed courier. Not letterbox parcels.
- 4Schedule a 30-minute kick-off call on day 1, even if 'it just works'. Avoids lost time on small questions.
When to bring us in
First time with Autopilot or a new region? We set it up and test with a dummy account. After that you ship laptops yourself in 10 minutes.
