Accountant has no or too-broad access to the books
Between 'no access' and 'full admin' there is a useful middle role. Packages often support an accountant role.
Try this first
- 1Create a dedicated accountant user, not a shared password
- 2Set the role to read-only plus journal import
- 3Enable 2FA on that login (required for sensitive data)
- 4Revoke access the moment the engagement ends, not 'maybe later'
When to bring us in
During audit rounds with multiple assistants, ask the accountant for per-person logins.
