Users download anything, how do I block unknown exes?

Smart App Control on Windows 11 blocks unsigned or unknown apps via Microsoft reputation. Only works on clean install or new device.

Try this first

  1. 1Check Windows Security > App & browser control > Smart App Control
  2. 2Status must be 'Evaluation' or 'On' after clean install
  3. 3If Off: only reset brings it back, that's a choice
  4. 4Combine with SmartScreen for browser downloads
