Do vendors train on our input? What is the default?
Differs per provider and per plan. Enterprise and API tiers are usually opt-out by default; free and consumer often opt-in, sometimes you must enable opt-out.
Try this first
- 1Read current terms, not what a colleague read last year
- 2Get the opt-out confirmed in writing via vendor support
- 3Where possible, pick the business tier for client data
- 4Track opt-out status per tool in your AI inventory
When to bring us in
When unsure about training or retention, do not route client data through it.
