- 1DeepL Free: keeps input for product improvement. Not for contracts, customer data, or confidential documents.
- 2DeepL Pro: does not retain text, has a DPA. Minimum bar for business use.
- 3Google Translate API in Google Workspace: similar story, business tier and DPA, personal Google has a different policy.
- 4For strictly confidential text: local translation models (Translate Locally or a self-hosted model on Azure/AWS with EU residency). More setup though.
- 5If random sentences drift through random tools, set one tool as the default. Otherwise you lose track of what went where.
