What can I actually build in Copilot Studio myself?
Copilot Studio is no-code for M365 agents. Good for narrow tasks, bad for 'do everything', and licensing costs surprise people.
Try this first
- 1Good for: an agent searching only your SharePoint docs, an onboarding bot answering FAQs, a form flow with AI extraction. Narrow and focused.
- 2Bad for: open-ended customer support, complex workflows with many exception paths. A real application beats a no-code agent there.
- 3Licensing: agents in Copilot Studio cost message credits per conversation, that scales with use. Test, then scale only after a week of measurements.
- 4Outbound actions (sending mail, creating tickets) run via Power Automate connectors. Budget an hour of configuration per action.
- 5Assign an owner per agent and a review checkpoint. Otherwise it is still running a year later on stale content.
When to bring us in
If the agent needs data outside M365 or has to reason across more than 2 steps, a real agent stack fits better. We can think along.
