Can I rely on AI meeting summaries?

For the gist usually fine, for decisions and deadlines read the relevant minute yourself. Summaries shed detail.

Try this first

  1. 1Overall gist and attendees: reliable enough for a quick catch-up.
  2. 2Concrete action items and owners: double-check. AIs sometimes invent 'X will do this' from a passing phrase rather than a real commitment.
  3. 3Dates and amounts in a meeting: read the minute yourself. One day off costs you a meeting.
  4. 4Customer or partner call: an AI summary can be the starting point for minutes, not the minutes themselves. Verify it.
  5. 5For 90+ minute meetings summaries get less reliable, that is built into compression.

When to bring us in

When an important decision turns out different from the AI summary: on conflict, pull the original recording/transcript for a neutral check.
