CPTs registered via a plugin you now want to remove
Register CPTs in a plugin and remove the plugin, they vanish from the dashboard but stay in the database.
Try this first
- 1Move CPT registration from plugin to your own MU-plugin or theme functions.php
- 2Test in staging: deactivate the old plugin, content must remain accessible
- 3Only switch in production once CPTs appear stable
- 4Document which file registers which CPT
When to bring us in
Hundreds of existing posts, a dev must check slug conflicts and taxonomy relations before switching.
