My laptop is empty in the bag while it was sleeping
Modern Standby S0 keeps the CPU partially awake for mail and notifications. A driver that fails to sleep keeps it active all night.
Try this first
- 1Run powercfg /sleepstudy and open the HTML report
- 2Look at Active vs DRIPS percentages, anything below 70% DRIPS is wrong
- 3Identify the offending driver or software in the top offenders
- 4Update WiFi, USB and chipset drivers to OEM versions
When to bring us in
If hardware cannot do S0 reliably: switch back to S3 hibernate in BIOS if supported.
