Cloudflare record, orange cloud on or grey?
Orange (proxied) routes through Cloudflare, grey (DNS-only) is plain DNS resolution.
Try this first
- 1Websites: orange, you get CDN, WAF, SSL for free
- 2Mail servers: grey, otherwise SMTP routing breaks
- 3SSH or non-HTTP services: grey
- 4Hide origin IP behind orange for extra DDoS protection
