Zapier trial hits the monthly task cap mid-month
Free and trial sit on a fixed task cap (see the Zapier pricing page for the current number). Too tight for production, fine for a PoC.
Try this first
- 1Open Zapier > Usage and read the count per Zap, not only the total
- 2Place a Filter right after the trigger so a Zap only spends tasks on relevant items
- 3Split multi-step Zaps so an expensive step (Search, Formatter) does not run unnecessarily
- 4Plan the upgrade before you go to production, not under it. A paused Zap due to over-quota is silent downtime
When to bring us in
If volume is structurally above trial level, compare Make or n8n. For a few critical Zaps a paid plan is fine; for dozens of flows another platform is often cheaper.

- n8n: self-host or cloud?Self-hosted is cheaper at volume and keeps data local. Cloud removes ops burden.
- Zapier or Make: which fits better?Zapier is straight-line; Make handles complex flows with routers and iterators for less money.
- Power Automate Cloud or Desktop: which to use?Cloud for SaaS integrations and triggers. Desktop for RPA against legacy Windows apps without APIs.
None of the above fits?
