Do I need dual-PSU servers, or is single fine?
Dual is nearly always justifiable for roles where downtime hurts immediately.
Try this first
- 1Two PSUs on separate UPS or power feeds
- 2Single PSU fine for edge or lab
- 3Test by pulling one PSU
- 4Plan PSU swaps into maintenance
When to bring us in
Whole rack on one feed: dual PSU helps less, split the feeds first.
